Here’s another reminder, guys: If you want to keep the relationship, DON’T SUFFOCATE your lover.
Suffocation is a SURE-FIIRE WAY to kill a relationship, no matter how patient or how much your partner loves you. Believe me.
Consider these suggestions to prevent suffocation:
Keep in mind that your partner is also a human being just like you.
A human being who needs free time and space once in a while; who enjoys, and has the right to enjoy other things in life apart from you; who has a mind of his or her own and does not need to be treated like a robot, and who deserves trust as much as you do.
If your partner wants to join friends on a night-out or for coffee once in a while, give your permission without hesitation. Encourage him or her to enjoy the gathering to the fullest. And DON’T TAG ALONG.
Don’t require or force your partner to answer immediately once you call, or text. And never raise hell at once if that happens. Ask first for an explanation, and NEVER PRE-CONCLUDE OR PREJUDGE.
Never always expect an immediate reply, especially if your partner is at work or in a meeting. The job is just as important as you.
Related to this, never call or text your partner hourly if you’re not together just to find out what he or she is doing. Mistrust is another fast way to kill an affair.
If your partner to notify you beforehand of a trip or move he or she had made, find out first why and don’t raise hell at once.
If you see your partner talking or being friendly with members of the opposite sex, there’s nothing wrong with it. Your partner has the right to free speech and there’s no law that says a person with a lover can no longer talk to others.
Be proud instead that your partner is well-liked by others, and that he or she must be really a nice person.
Love is not a dictatorship. Love is not a one-way street.
Love and loving is life. Any form of life must be able to breathe. Otherwise, it DIES! 30
