Another personal, and married, friend of mine had a query about her forbidden affair with a married man. They both want to end the affair but they want suggestions on how to make it even a little lighter for both of them.
They have been lovers for more than eight years.
I gave them two short pieces of advice. First is pray. Pray hard for spiritual strength and guidance so that they can cope with the separation.
Second is I asked them to listen carefully to the lyrics of two songs which can inspire couples like them to, hopefully, be together again, in the future or even the afterlife and fulfill their love in the right place and right time.
Here are excerpts from those two songs:
From “A Time For Us,” the theme song from the movie of the same title:
A time for us, someday there’ll be,
When chains are torn, by courage born,
Of a love that’s free.
A time when dreams, so long denied,
Can flourish, as we unveil the love
We now must hide.
From “Somewhere,” theme song form the movie “West Side Story”:
There’s a place for us,
Somewhere a place for us,
Peace and quiet, and open air,
Wait for us somewhere,
There’s a time for us,
A time and a place for us,
Time together with time to spare,
Time to look, time to care.
I hope you’ll like this, boys and girls. May these help those who are in a similar situation. 30
